Book of the Day: Leaders Eat Last

Title: Leaders Eat Last

Author: Simon Sinek

From the book: “This is what work-life balance means: It has nothing to do with the hours we work or the stress we suffer. It has to do with where we feel safe. If we feel safe at home, but don’t feel safe at work, then we will suffer what we perceive to be a work-life imbalance.”

Takeaway: This is my go-to book on leadership, culture creation, and team building. It’s very good, packed with timeless wisdom and biochemical evidence for what needs to be in place for healthy group dynamics. I think it should be required reading for any coach, captain, or leader of a group. You’ll learn about how safety and connection between individuals within a group have a far greater influence on success than the sheer talent on the roster.
