Title: Legacy

Author: James Kerr

From the book: “Intensity of preparation — training to win — conditions the brain and body to perform under pressure. It lets peak performance become automatic. It develops the mindset to win. Effective training is intense, regular, and repetitious. Training with intensity accelerates personal growth. For world-class results, it should be central to your work.”

Takeaway: The path to success is simple: plan your work, work your plan, review, repeat. Most people have an action bias, they think doing is all that matters. But there is little planning or reviewing of their actions. This makes their activity haphazard and what they achieve little or less than they desire. The All-Blacks as a team, culture, brand are successful become of their discipline in all 3 areas of this feedback loop. Planning, action, and reflection all have equal import. No piece of the puzzle is separate from the other, it’s all connected and feeds the improvement or deterioration of the next step in the cycle.
