Context & Details

Here are Andy's comments on the session, "Great workout! Felt awesome!" I bet he did, he was flying!

The rough 400m splits for his 500s were 56, 55, 53, 52. It is worth noting the on the final 500m rep, his last 200m was timed at 24 seconds — damn.

A year removed from his surprise runner-up finish 800m at the 2008 Olympic Trials and his first Olympic team, this workout shows his pedigree. He was gearing up for the collegiate championship season with the Pac-10 meet only weeks away (he won the 800m conference title that year).

Looking at his logs, it seems as though this was supposed to be the final "hard" session of the season. Only, it really wasn't that hard for him. What makes this workout so impressive was the fact he reported feeling awesome. Not redlining. Not puking out his guts. Not meh. But, awesome.

And honestly, that describes Wheating as a person to a T — 100% Awesome.
