No great thing is created suddenly.” — Epicurus

Patience is hard. We want results now. But convenience is the enemy. Look to nature. The law of steady returns requires constant applied effort over a long time (months, years, decades) to realize stable gains.

There are many steps to building something great — and the sequence of those steps matter.

First, a desired destination, or goal, is set.

Then a needs analysis of all the prerequisites required to arrive at your desired goal. Weakness will need to be addressed and strengths further improved.

Then planning the process of work. This is the hardest, but most important part.

And finally, doing the work as planned — with wiggle room for revisions or pivots if needed.

If you’re faithful to your plan and show up, do the work, without fail, you’ll advance your position.

This process takes time, far more time than we’d like, but like anything of lasting quality, it’s worth it.
