Make the Moment

Every contest has a critical moment.

Some call it the "moment of truth." Others refer to it as "gut check time."

It is the space where an athlete must make a tough choice: stay within their comfort zone and see if that is good enough, or step outside of it and go all in.

You can go one of three ways:

  1. Shy away from the moment
  2. Respond to the moment
  3. Make the moment

The third path is the toughest, but the only route where success resides.

So how does one make the moment? By way of preparation, excitement, and curiosity.

The competitor who is interested in attempting to define a moment on their terms and through their actions has a better shot at achieving excellence than the person who recoils when difficulty presents itself.
